THE BREWERIES

WHO WE SUPPORT

LIBERTY

WHO ARE LIBERTY?

Liberty is the bold, bad ladyboy of New Zealand brewing, unrestrained and unapologetic since our founding in 2009.
The enjoyment of muscular style- driven beer that focuses on goodness not gimmicks is the hill we’ve elected to die on.

ISTHMUS

WHO ARE ISTHMUS?

Isthmus Brewing Company is an independent business, owned by a husband and wife team: Hamish Ward and Caroline Muller-Ward.
With the motto “Flavour-first”, Isthmus are dedicated to producing unique and flavoursome brews, be it their core range or limited edition and seasonal brews.
Isthmus take their name from Auckland's unique geography.
An Isthmus is a narrow strip of land, bordered on both sides by water. The name Isthmus is a nod to their roots.

ROCKY KNOB

WHO ARE ROCKY KNOB?

Rocky Knob is the passion project of Stu and Bron Marshall.
They are all about the getting together of like minded people to share in some full flavoured beers and good times. Each beer is brewed with specific people in mind who are special to us.
Living at the beautiful Mount Maunganui, we contract brew at another craft beer brewery who are as passionate about good beer as we are.

BREWDOG

WHO ARE BREWDOG?

In 2007 James and Martin started BrewDog with a mission to make other people as passionate about great craft beer as they were. In April 2007, in a godforsaken industrial estate in north east Scotland, BrewDog came howling into the world.

WHY WE SELL BREWDOG

All proceeds from their sales are donated to some of our favourite craft beer bars around New Zealand.

Drink BrewDog support local.

CITIZEN Beer

WHO ARE CITIZEN?

When a chef, a brewer, a baker and an innovator collaborate to combat food waste the end result is some very tasty goodness!
Rescuing surplus food and re-working it into delicious, low-impact food and drink is at the heart of Citizen – a new collective set up by a group of passionate foodies.

Ben Bayly from Ahi and The Grounds restaurants, Mike Sutherland from Sawmill Brewery, Andrew Fearnside from Wild Wheat, along with food innovator Donald Shepherd, are keen to do things a bit differently and bring a positive change to the food industry. “At Citizen we give food a second life in a sustainable way. We’re as serious about tackling food and resource waste as we are about good food and drink”. Ben Bayly, Citizen Co-Founder says.

A third of all food produced around the world is wasted every year.

Citizen has recently applied this thinking to New Zealand’s most wasted food item – BREAD. The Citizen collective is now rescuing fresh bread, close to its best before date, and using it as a key ingredient in its craft beers. “It’s not every day you get to create a tasty craft beer and fight food waste in the process”. Mike Sutherland, Citizen Co-Founder and owner of Sawmill Brewery says.

But Citizen’s sustainability efforts don’t stop here.

The beer brewing process produces a by-product, or mash, and Citizen has developed a specialised regraining process – turning it into a high-quality, nutritious spent-grain flour. Andrew Fearnside from Wild Wheat Bakery uses this high protein, high fibre spent -grain flour to bake bread, completing Citizen’s ‘bread into beer into bread’ circular food system.

"We like to think it’s the world’s tastiest food revolution,” Donald Shepherd says.
